Alkaline Batteries

Alkaline batteries are NOT accepted at the Debbie Marshall Recycling Center.  These are the ordinary batteries (e.g., Energizer, Duracell, Ray-O-Vac, etc) generally purchased at area stores to power common household items like toys, flashlights, and small appliances.  Although it is permissible by law to dispose of these batteries in household trash, recycling them helps to keep heavy metals out of the environment and makes these metals available for reuse.
