Plastics (#1 & #2)

Plastics - #1 & #2

Includes ONLY plastics stamped with a #1 or #2 designation inside the recycling symbol usually found on the bottom of a plastic item.  Plastic grocery sacks marked with #1 or #1 can also be recycled, however, they need to be weighted down to prevent them from blowing out of the collection bin and becoming a nuisance. We suggest put a large recyclable plastic item inside them or putting many bags inside one bag.

INFORMATION ON PLASTIC TYPES

Note:  Look for the recycling symbols (the number in the triangle) on the bottom of the containers to make sure only #1 and #2 plastics are included.  Caps often are unmarked and usually are made of a plastic other than #1 and #2, so we ask they be removed.  Also, if a plastic is unmarked, then please assume that it is NOT #1 and #2 and dispose of it in the trash.
